About the No. 07 Camaro: Ray Black Jr. and the 07 team are set for Indianapolis after coming off a solid month of racing in August. Black recorded an impressive 16th place finish last week at Darlington Raceway. Crew Chief Jason Miller will select chassis 716 for competition this weekend. Chassis 716 was previously raced at Michigan International Speedway, where Ray Black Jr finished in the 30th position after being involved in an early accident. Black has two career Xfinity Series starts at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a best career finish of 24th place from 2017. Black remains in the 16th position in the NASCAR Xfinity Series point standings with two races remaining until the playoffs.
Team and Car Information
Driver: Gray Gaulding
Crew Chief: Patrick Donahue
Car: No. 08 Chevrolet Camaro
Primary Sponsor: GPS PURE/ Panini
Engine: ECR Engines (ECR)
About the No. 08 Camaro: After a special tribute to team owner Bobby Dotter last weekend at Darlington Raceway, it’s back to normal colors for Gaulding and the 08 team. Gaulding was able to muscle his way to another top 15 finish last weekend after battling an extremely loose handling race car throughout the race. Crew Chief Patrick Donahue will select chassis 711 for competition this weekend, which was previously raced last weekend at Darlington Raceway. Gaulding will be making his Indianapolis Motor Speedway debut in a NASCAR Xfinity Series car this weekend. Although Gaulding has little experience at Indianapolis, he does have one career Brickyard 400 under his belt from 2017, where he finished in the 24th position.
Push for the Playoffs:
With only two races remaining until the 2019 playoffs, Gaulding is now in the ‘must win’ category to make the playoffs. Gaulding currently sits in the 13th position in the NASCAR Xfinity Series point standings and trails the 39 of Ryan Sieg by 119 points for the final playoff position.
TV/Radio: The Indiana 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway can be seen live on Saturday, September 7th on NBCSN. Race coverage will begin at 3:00 p.m. EST, and the event can also be heard live on The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio App.
About SS Green Light Racing: As one of the most tenured teams in all of NASCAR, SS Green Light has been a developmental hub for drivers looking to climb the ranks. Led by Owner, Bobby Dotter, the team has fielded entries in either the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series or the Xfinity Series competition since 2001. Coming off a successful 2018 Xfinity campaign, SS Green Light looks to build further momentum with their two-car program.
